A little intro

We are based in Los Angeles, California. So all prices are in USD currency.

Most vehicles can fit two DartSolar Blades on their roof — charging 15 to 20 miles per day. Each DartSolar Blade is rated at 500 watts of solar power. The central frame of a DartSolar Blade is made of 1/8-inch (3 mm) thick custom extruded aluminum with 1.25 inch (31 mm) square pipes that are laser welded. Each DartSolar Blade connects to your roof rack with eight 3/8-inch (10 mm) thick brackets and eight 3/8-inch (10 mm) bolts. We share this to explain that the DartSolar Blade has been over engineered for safety.

DatSolar Blades can interconnect with each other via a solid 1×1-inch (25×25 mm) block of aluminum at the front and the back. So the DartSolar Blade is like a “lego” that can be connected to create a larger solar array on your vehicle. We include the 1×1 block with each order in case you wish to level-up in the future.

Your order will ship in about two months from your purchase date. Orders can be cancelled up to the day we ship your units. Your DartSolar Blade will not include a power unit, and you likely need one to charge your vehicle. While you wait for your shipment we will contact you and recommend you the best power unit for your needs. Typically, power units can cost from $500 to $3,000. Typically they cost $900. And if you already have a power unit, great! You don’t need to get a new one.

All parts, repair instructions, as well as “Open Repair” parts that you can downloaded and 3D-printed are available in our Open Library. Our Open Repair program is just meant to help you in emergencies, in your DartSolar Blade order we will include all the parts and wires you need to get started.

Installation

Each DartSolar Blade is about 45 pounds (20 kg), and it is bulky in size — about 60 × 25 inches (150 × 60 cm). We recommend you ask a friend to help you for a minute to lift the unit on your vehicle. After you load it on your car, it only takes one person 15 minutes to install it.
