The Best Power Units for Your DartSolar
A DartSolar charges your power unit through its solar input, so the power unit you pair it with decides how much sun you can store and what you can do with it. We reviewed 169 power units against the DartSolar’s electrical specs and picked the top units. Price ranges are based on each brand’s official US store prices as of October 8, 2026. Product and adapter names in the tables below link to Amazon, and DartSolar earns a commission when you buy through them. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Parallel or Series?
Every DartSolar connects to a power unit with either 30 or 90 volts. The 30 volt setup is when all the solar panels are connected in parallel, and 90 volt is when they are connected in series. Series gets the most power out of a fully expanded DartSolar, in unshaded sun. Parallel keeps producing when part of the array is shaded. In the tables below, “Yes” means the unit’s solar input works with that setup.
For Easy EV Charging
If charging your EV is the goal, start here. A unit this size can bank a strong day of sun from a 1000-watt DartSolar setup, then deliver it to your car in one fast session, the “buffer, then dump” approach we explain in Why Undersized Power Units Fail When Charging Your Electric Vehicle. Two of the four power units below take only the 90 volt DartSolar setup. In general, the higher the voltage, the better the performance.

Daytime Use, Occasional EV Top-Ups
This size is for using solar passively through the day. It runs everyday loads like a fridge, laptop, fans, or tools while banking the surplus for the evening. You can still top up your EV once in a while, but it’s tedious: with less storage, you’ll plug the car in more often, for shorter sessions, to make use of a full day of sun. All three take the 30 volt DartSolar setup, and two also take the 90 volt setup.

One DartSolar, or Solar as You Go
Pick from this group if you’ll have a single DartSolar (500 watts), or if you’ll use solar power as it’s generated rather than storing it for later. With 500 watts coming in, a larger battery takes longer to fill and mostly adds cost and weight. All three take only the 30 volt DartSolar setup.
